Michael is an experienced executive, lawyer and governance professional with nearly two decades of experience advising boards, executives, investors and businesses on complex legal, regulatory and commercial matters.

Prior to joining LPF Group, Michael held a number of senior executive positions with Heartland Bank and Heartland Group Holdings, including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel. He advised the Board and executive team on governance, strategy, regulatory affairs, acquisitions and capital raisings.

Michael began his career at leading corporate law firm Mayne Wetherell, advising banks, corporates, investors and insolvency practitioners on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, insolvency and financing transactions. This experience provided extensive exposure to contested matters, distressed situations and the commercial realities of dispute resolution.

At LPF Group, Michael brings a combination of legal, financial, risk and governance expertise to the assessment, management and funding of complex litigation and insolvency claims.

Michael is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors (CMInstD) and serves on the Board of Trustees of Carmel College. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Auckland.
